Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Authentic ayam kampung wt superb-licous dishes.. A true eating endeavours & non-stopable munchings.. until tummy fully tight Highly recommendable"
"Found another restaurant in Sri Hartamas serving Malay dishes just behind the more famous Cili Kampung. I had the set with Daging Salai MLCA and the missus ordered the one with Ayam Kampung Goreng. Both sets came with ulam-ulaman, sambal and a bit of gravy. It’s a no-frills joint with limited menu choices, plus the servings might be a bit small for big eaters. Nonetheless, everything tasted really good and authentic that you’d forgive the above average prices."
"I have a principle that I wouldn’t spend money to eat malay food at a proper restaurant because I can get the exact quality of food at a roadside gerai. But oh my.. this establishment is worthy of my review as I’ve never reviewed a Malay restaurant before. The food is exceptional. The owner was gracious. Thank u so much for your hospitality Kak Yatie. The only this that you need to improve is the the ventilation of the shop. Probably install a dehumidifier or have incense machine in the shop. Or perhaps ensure that u use a better cleaning brand for the table top and floor."
"Opted for the set lunch for two and it was a good meal. Complete with kerutuk ayam, kuah, sambal, ulam and budu, of course."
"Malay food at its best. Freshly prepared. Reasonably priced."
"A hidden gem in this area - great food at a very reasonable price, considering the location. Owner is very friendly and welcoming. Most dishes will sell out quickly, so do consider contacting them to preorder your food. Some of our favorites are the fried ayam kampung, daging salai masak lemak and terung balado."
"Best Fried Ayam Kampung in town for me. So Addictive. Their Sambal Sotong is good too But everything solds out damn fast. So you better go early to enjoy the food there. They’ve moved to MATRADE Building now at the Ground Floor. You can park at the Lobby area of MATRADE building."
"One of my favourite restaurants! I have been eating at Ayam Kampung for the past 5 months and have been thoroughly impressed with the food. I especially enjoy the ayam kampung set with rice, the mix of flavours with the three types of sambal provided is truly an explosion of flavour. Come here for fantastic, authentic malay food!"
